About Me
My name is Melinda Nowers and I am a freelance wardrobe stylist/ consultant. I love working with my clients to help them make the most of their current wardrobes and add to when necessary. We discuss their body type and what will look best on them. My goal is to educate my clients on all aspects of dressing and decision-making when buying their clothing. I consult on where and when to buy and quality versus quantity with a keen eye on the fashion world. We may try out some trends but ultimately, build a wardrobe of classics and basics that still fit your personality. My hope is that it is a fun, learning experience that builds confidence. When we are done I want you to be happy with the amount of time and money you spent with me and feel as if you have an outfit for all occasions and everyday dressing.
I am a native Nashvillian and have a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising. My first job years ago, was a visual merchandiser for a department store (windows and mannequins, fun, fun, fun!). My last “work for someone else” job was being a buyer for a small boutique (NY and Atlanta apparel marts, also fun, fun, fun). I have been a contributor to The Tennessean’s Daily Crave page in addition to working with my clients and writing my blog. I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else (well, Paris is pretty good with fashion!). Comments and sharing are much appreciated. Thanks for checking me out! Give me a call, I’d love to meet with you!

Melinda, I read about you in the Daily Crave today. I need help with my wardrobe. Seems like I cannot pick out anything that looks good anymore. Help. I am 58 petite 155 pounds and 5 feet 3 inches tall. Can we make an appointment or meet somewhere? My wardrobe is a bust,. So I need to start over. Linda Dove 615-944-5694

Melinda, count me as another who needs help with my wardrobe. I’m just down the road from you in Chattanooga and could certainly come to you to do some shopping. After reading your blog and comments, I could tell right away that you are right on with what I like and your opinions/style attitudes. I am 54, 5’0″ and 120 lbs. Being short and having more bust than I would like really makes finding clothes that I like and like the way they look on me, very challenging. I like and tend to always buy simple lines. I have a casual lifestyle, but when I do have occasion to go to a lunch (where stylish but professional attire is appropriate), or evenings out with friends, I don’t have the right things. I mostly wear jeans, t-shirts, various cardigans, boots in the winter and sandals in the summer. Could you help me with some key pieces that will work for my body? Thank you so much,

Terri, thanks so much for contacting me. I’d love for you to make a trip to Nashville so I can help you! I have a bit of a problem at the moment, I am receiving chemo for breast cancer. I will be done in early March. If you can wait until then, that would be great. If that is too long to delay, I certainly understand.
The only other thing you need to know is that it is usually at least a 2 day process. Ideally, I like to have a consult first and ask some basic questions, we come up with list of needs and goals, and also I get a visual of the client. Then, I shop for you alone and put things on hold and the next day we go together and try on and see what works. The consult could take place on the day I shop alone.
If that is clear as mud, please ask questions!
Thanks again for getting in touch….I hope we get to meet!
Melinda

Terri, I see where we exchanged emails a year ago! I apologize for not getting back with you. March last year turned out to be not such a great time and there were surgeries after that. All that to say, THIS March, I am well and working! If you would still like to discuss working with me, I’d love to help you.
Hope you are well. Melinda

Hi Melinda,
My thoughts and prayers are with you as you take this journey with cancer. I have several friends fighting the battle.
I read your article in the Tennesseean.I would like to make an appointment with you next March. My wardrobe consist of scrubs during the week and jeans and t-shirts. I want to have options for social occasions other than my jeans and t’s. I am 5’6 and 120lbs. Will put you on my calendar for March ’12.
Thanks so much, Vicki
